Outdoor enthusiasts will want to make a visit to Battle Ground Lake State Park, which is situated amongst 280 acres of beautiful, forest land nestled at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. It is just 21 miles northeast of Vancouver, Washington. The lake resembles a smaller version of Crater Lake in Oregon and is of volcanic origin as well. The park grounds are open year-round for camping and day use with plenty of camping and picnicking facilities. Kitchen shelters with or without electricity are available for campers. Hiking, horse and bike trails are also offered for those who wish to engage in such outdoor activities. Other activities include freshwater, non-motorized boating (with 60 feet of dock), fishing and swimming. Also onsite is a sheltered amphitheater, badminton area, baseball field, horseshoe pits and volleyball field.

Paradise Point State Park, located in southwest Washington just six miles south of Woodland in Clark County, covers 88 acres of land with 6,180 feet of freshwater shoreline. Various recreational activities can be sought out throughout the park grounds including camping, picnicking, boating, and hiking. Amenities include over 70 campsites, nine walk-in sites, a comfort station, 29 picnic sites, a primitive boat launch and two hiking trails covering about 2 ˝ miles.
